Storm windows are a good solution to this problem.  They mount outside of your existing windows protecting them from the weather and increasing energy effeciency.  Our custom wood storm windows look like they were meant to go with the house when it was orignally constructed.  If you are putting the storm windows over existing doublehung windows we can make them operate so you can leave them up in the summer months.
